Drawing the Argonauts
Iridescent
Studio × Stichting NDSM-werf
As part of the research for The Argonauts, a new public artwork by Ivan Morison for NDSM Werf, Iridescent Studio and Stichting NDSM-werf invite you to join an evening of observational drawing.
Program
This special session will feature two models and Papi, that will tie them through a series of floor-based and partial suspension transitions.
Carlo Marló will be guiding the session. Participants are invited to draw the changing relationships between bodies as they move through moments of connection, restriction, support and suspension, exploring how this trust can generate unexpected sculptural forms.
Previous life drawing experience is welcome, but not essential. This is not a taught class.
The session forms part of Morison's research for The Argonauts. Rather than producing direct studies for the final sculptures, the drawings and experience of the evening will help shape the work as it develops.
Ivan Morison
Ivan Morison is a British artist whose recent work explores sculpture as a form of queer relational practice, shaped through embodied experience, materials and public space.
