During a bondage session, the breathing of the tied up person is often impacted.
A simple chest harness can become real torture when breathing in certain positions. The rope is a perfect tool for breath play.
The rigger can play with his or her partner’s breathing on different spots: mouth, throat, ribcage, abdomen...
After we familiarize ourselves with the precautions to be taken, we’ll experiment with effective ways of obstructing the air column...
Breath play is a powerful means of communication in ropes. In this course, we’ll explore the reactions and emotions that breath play can induce on your partner, so that we can use it appropriately in a rope session.
Depending on the tie, participants’ level of experience, and their preferences, these bondages can be explored both in partial suspension and in full suspension.
Bänana (she/her)
A ten-year bondage enthusiast, found her passion in shibari, drawn to its raw and authentic nature. As she has always been fascinated by the expression of emotion, shibari has opened upanewpathofexplorationtoher. She began to follow Docvale’s teaching in November 2018, later partnering with him to co-manage Atelier Simonet in Paris until summer 2023. She opened her own rope studio in Paris in 2024: La Cabäne.
As an instructor, Bänana emphasizes understanding the reasons behind each technique, rather than rote learning. She believes in using these skills to enhance the connectionwithpartners.
With experience as both a rigger and a model, she is dedicated to teaching both roles, providing tools for a rewarding rope experience.
Cat (she /her)
Has been a shibari model for 3 years, enjoying semenawa and exploring the possibilities of her body. As a course model, she also enjoys sharing the techniques that have enhanced her experiences in ropes.
She regularly gives classes in Paris at “Port d’attaches” and with Bänana at La Cabäne
Level
This course is suitable for riggers who are comfortable tying in partial.
Having already been tied several times in partial is necessary for the models. Communication being a central element in shibari it is always preferable to come with a partner with whom you already practice in order to allow a good experience.
It's important to have already discussed the framework of your practice (desires, intentions, limits, ways of managing consent)
